Negative Wind Chills and Drifting Snow Through Late This Morning
From the National Weather Service:
The combination of single digit air temperatures and north winds
of 10 to 20 mph will result in wind chill values of 2 degrees
below zero to 15 degrees below zero. These wind chills can cause
frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Take
frequent breaks to warm up and dress in layers if venturing
outdoors this morning.
Blowing and drifting snow is also expected to continue this
morning. This will prolong ongoing hazardous driving conditions,
especially on east to west roads. Some rural roads may have become
impassable overnight. Do not attempt to drive through snow drifts
as you may get stuck and become stranded. As a precaution, if you
must travel, pack extra blankets, food, water and a shovel as an
emergency kit.
