High Wind Warning until 07:00AM Monday 
A cold front moving east of the region this morning is ushering in strong winds and much colder air. Northwest winds will increase rapidly by daybreak this morning and then maximize during the daytime hours. Gusty mountain winds will persist into tonight, while wind gusts will slowly diminish east of the mountains. The most intense area of damaging wind gusts today will likely impact locations along and near the Blue Ridge escarpment.
* LOCATIONS...The North Carolina Blue Ridge mountain area, from Henderson County northward to Avery and western Caldwell Counties.
* HAZARDS...Strong to damaging winds.
* TIMING...Northwest winds will increase rapidly by daybreak today. The strongest winds are expected from shortly after sunrise through the afternoon hours. Winds will diminish very slowly tonight.
* WINDS...Northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
