When criminals in America commit heinous crimes like murder, relocation is usually their only option in hopes of escaping doing the time for the crime.   Atlanta is often an attractive city for fugitives because it has so much to offer.   The problem is when people move  to Atlanta, they do not know where the city lines begins or ends.  Often they believe they are in Atlanta even if they are actually in a metro county.   Because the Atlanta Airport named after two of Atlanta’s greatest Mayors is in Clayton County, it is not uncommon for newcomers to think they are in Atlanta when they are actually in Clayton County.  However, nothing could be further from the truth when you are a fugitive hiding in a County that is been proven to be extremely unsafe for criminals. 

Christopher Odoms fell into this spider’s web after being involved in a drug related homicide in Pensacola Florida where a male victim was shot twice and thrown from a vehicle onto a roadway.  This murder occurred December 12, 2018 in Escambia County, Florida.   Odoms thought he was seeking refuge in Atlanta, but hid about two miles across line bordering into Clayton County in the Conley area.  The mistake of not verifying exactly where he was caused Odoms to be surrounded by Sheriff Victor Hill’s SWAT team and elite Fugitive Squad late last night.  Odoms was taken into custody without incident.

It is unknown if Odoms will waive extradition back to Florida or not.  But if Odoms chooses not to waive, he will spend more time at the luxurious “Hill-ton” facing the wall at Georgia’s para-military jail.
