Update: Police Activity-1400 block of 90th Ave. Early morning search warrant served. Roads open.
On Friday, January 18, 2019, at 10:33 PM, the Oakland Police Department received a call from a female advising she was being chased down the street by her ex-boyfriend. It was reported he was armed with a pistol, threatened her and discharged his firearm in the air. Officers located the victim in the 1400 block of 90th Avenue where she directed them to where the suspect ran into a nearby residence. Officers imediatly set a perimeter around the residence and attempted to make contact with the suspect to encourage him to safely surrender. After several hours and numerous attempts, no response.
The next morning, at 12:43 AM, the Oakland Police Department Tactical Operations Team was called to assist the patrol officers with the incident. The Tactical Operations Team additionally attempted to make contact with the suspect for a safe surrender by using varoius methods, again no response.
The Criminal Investigations Division was also called out to the scene and obtained a search warrant for the residence. Ultimately, the search warrant was served, a search of the residence was conducted; however, the suspect was not located and remains at large.
