Flood Watch until 04:00AM Sunday

The National Weather Service in Charleston has expanded the

* Flood Watch to include portions of southeast Ohio and West Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast Ohio, Athens, Meigs, Vinton, and Washington. In West Virginia, Jackson WV, Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, Wirt, and Wood.

* From Saturday afternoon through late Saturday night

* Rain will overspread the area Saturday and continue into the overnight hours. Rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches are forecast. Ground conditions are wet, and most of this rain is expected to runoff into streams, creeks and rivers. This will cause strong rises and possible flooding conditions throughout the watch area.

* Flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas, and roads along streams, creeks and rivers is possible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: WOOD ... TYLER ... WASHINGTON ... VINTON ... WIRT ... MEIGS ... JACKSON ... RITCHIE ... ATHENS ... PLEASANTS

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
