NJ Gov. Murphy declares State of Emergency 1/19/19
NJ Gov. Murphy has issued a State of Emergency starting at 12 noon on Saturday, 1/19/19. This is a result of The National Weather Service’s Winter Storm warning for Sussex, Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Union, Hudson, Morris, Somerset, Warren and Hunterdon counties from Saturday until Sunday. Heavy mixed precipitation is possible (snow, ice & freezing rain) after 12 noon on Saturday with total snow accumulations of at least 5 to 8 inches, and ice accumulations of up to 1/10th of an inch are possible. As information is updated, we will continue to advise the public.
Residents are urged to stay off of roads & not to travel during the storm, both to remain safe and not hamper efforts of plows and emergency vehicles.
As always, contact the WNYPD at (201) 295-5000 for emergencies.
