Men Arrested for Liquor Theft

On Thursday night around 5:00 p.m., a Loss Prevention Officer from CVS Pharmacy (3900 block of Cochran Street) contacted Simi Valley Police to report two men stealing bottles of alcohol from the store. One of the men wore a backpack and walked down the liquor aisle while the other man followed behind, selected bottles of liquor from the shelves and placed the bottles into the backpack. CVS Loss Prevention watched the men leave the store without paying for the merchandise, get into a vehicle and leave the parking lot.

Responding officers located the vehicle a short distance away and stopped the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, the officers found the stolen liquor bottles. A records check revealed that one of the suspects, 42 year-old David McCammon of Los Angeles, was on parole for burglary. The other suspect, 38 year-old Raymond Hester, also of Los Angeles, had a burglary warrant out for his arrest.

McCammon was arrested for Commercial Shoplift and Conspriacy to Commit a Crime. Hester was arrested for the outstanding burglary warrant, Commercial Shoplift, and Conspiracy. Both men were booked into the Ventura County Jail.

SVPD authorizes the Ventura County Sheriff's Department to release the booking photos.
