Advisory

BTPD provides briefing on tonight's anticipated snowfall.

The BTPD and Bordentown Township Office of Emergency Management advise of a minor weather system moving in tonight which will bring a light snowfall mainly along and outside of the I-95 corridor. While forecast snow accumulations (pictured) are minor, some slippery spots are possible tomorrow morning.

A more significant storm will impact us this weekend with a mix of snow, ice, and rain. More details on that storm will be released as they develop.

Snow will overspread much of the area after this evening's rush.  The snow may mix with or change to rain across much of eastern Maryland, Delaware and southeastern New Jersey by late tonight.  The precipitation is expected to end by the Friday morning rush.  Any precipitation is anticipated to be fairly light, with 1 to 2 inch snow totals possible northwest of the I-95 corridor and an inch or less elsewhere.

  Here are the key messages:
1.       The Friday morning commute will likely have some impacts due to potentially hazardous travel conditions, especially northwest of the I-95 corridor.  Impacts along and southeast of the I-95 corridor are less certain, as temperatures will be near or possibly above freezing.

2.       Confidence of light snowfall totals is moderate to high.

3.       The trend in recent forecasts is for slightly lower snowfall totals overall with this event.
