UNIT: Investigative Services Division, Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF)
NARRATIVE:
On January 16, 2019, at approximately 1630 hours, units from the Pomona Police Department’s MCTF attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle at Hamilton Boulevard at Mission Avenue. The suspect vehicle drove around the block while MCTF units followed and stopped on Hamilton Avenue, south of W. Third Street. That is when a known gang member, Rubulcava, exited the vehicle and fled while carrying a firearm. Additional MCTF members arrived on scene and took Rubulcava into custody after a short foot chase. During the foot chase MCTF members recovered a 40 Caliber handgun and narcotics which was discarded by Rubulcava as he ran from officers.
