INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 2400 Ridgeview Drive, Chino Hills

SUSPECT: Jaime Diaz, age 27 a resident of Corona (27 years old) resident of Corona

VICTIMS: Various throughout the Chino Valley Area


SUMMARY: On January 16, 2019, at around 3:30 am, deputies responded to a vehicle burglary in the 4200 block of Ridgeview Drive. Deputy Robert Ramirez discovered an unknown suspect had entered the victim’s vehicle and took their garage door opener. The suspect opened the garage and stole items from inside.

While investigating the garage burglary, deputies received a report of a hit-and-run vehicle accident in the area of Peyton Drive and Chino Hills Parkway. Deputies located the suspect vehicle attempting to flee the area. Deputies detained Jaime Diaz for suspicion of hit-and-run. Diaz was found to be on felony probation Riverside County. Deputies searched Diaz’s vehicle and found stolen property from the burglary at 4200 Ridgeview Drive. Additionally, a large amount of other property, suspected to be stolen was in the vehicle.

Investigators immediately began to identify additional victims. To date, six victims have been contacted and their property returned to them.

Diaz was arrested for burglary and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims and need the public’s help to identify the recovered property.
