WOOLSEY FIRE BURN AREA RAIN STORM INCIDENT UPDATE

A significant weather event associated with rainfall by way of consecutive storms in a compressed timeframe poses a high risk for mud and debris flow throughout the Woolsey Fire Burn Area. The area presents as potentially unstable due to decreased ability of burn areas to absorb rainfall. Protection of life, property, and the environment will remain our priorities. Rainfall is forecasted to continue for the Woolsey
Fire Burn Area Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Public safety officials remain vigilant as the potential for mud and debris flows remains.
 
Specific properties in the following areas have received door-knock notification and posted notice at their residence:
• Corral Canyon / El Nido
• Escondido / Latigo Canyon
• Malibu West / Trancas Canyon
• Malibu Park / Bonsall
• Malibu Lake
• All of Ramirez Canyon Road and adjacent streets
• Paradise Cove Mobile Home Park and Restaurant
 
Currently 300 homes within the Woolsey Fire Burn Area are under mandatory evacuation.
 
The American Red Cross has set up evacuation centers at the following locations:

Santa Monica, CA 90405
