DETAILS:  Ptl. Fiore was detailed to the Barnes & Noble bookstore for a wallet theft where the following was reported: The victim was seated in the Café area of the bookstore studying. She got up several times and left her belongings unattended. After receiving multiple fraud alerts on her phone from credit card companies, she discovered that her wallet had been taken from the front pocket of her backpack. Several thousand dollars worth of charges were made on her credit cards in South Brunswick and at the Menlo Park Mall.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Cuomo was detailed to the Santander Bank located at 44 Princeton-Hightstown Rd. for an individual attempting to cash a forged check. Investigation determined the following: Ashley Soler was in possession of a check in her name for $3,260.00 that was issued by a deli in Newark, NJ. The signature on the check did not match the signature on file with the bank, and further investigation revealed that the check was actually fake. Soler was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Fiore received an alert that there was a possible drunk driver traveling west on Princeton-Hightstown Rd. who was operating a black BMW X5. Ptl. Fiore observed the vehicle pass him and caught up to it to investigate. Ptl. Fiore initiated a stop on the black BMW after observing that it had difficulty maintaining its lane of travel, and had an expired registration. The BMW continued driving down the road despite the lights and sirens being activated on Ptl. Fiore’s police vehicle. After the BMW finally stopped, Ptl. Fiore determined that the driver, Melissa Bajcic was DWI. Bajcic was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Jany took a report for the Theft of a wallet from the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. The victim last remembered having her wallet on Dec. 10, 2018, after having dinner there. Follow-up investigation by Det. J. Jones determined the following: The victim had placed her wallet on her lap, and while conversing with her friends, did not realize that her wallet had fallen onto the floor. After the victim left, Samantha Bonfonti, an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings, found the wallet and placed it into the front of her apron. Fraudulent transactions were made with the credit and gift cards that were in the wallet.  Bonfonti was identified as the person using the credit/gift cards. On January 3, 2019, Bonfonti was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Hojnacki was detailed to Target for a shoplifter being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation revealed the following: Kyashia Gibson selected a baby stroller and numerous articles of infant clothing from the sales floor. Gibson then proceeded directly to Customer Service where she fraudulently returned the stroller, and then used the issued credit to purchase the infant clothing. Gibson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Zicha initiated a stop on a blue 2005 Chrysler SUV for failing to keep right (driving in the left lane) on U.S. Route 1. During the stop, the driver, Vanrashawn Avery-Wells was found to be a “Wanted” person and had two warrants for his arrest from Westampton, NJ. The passenger, India S. Johnson first provided Ptl. Zicha with a driver’s license attempting to identify herself as “Surany Samon”. When that name was determined to be a false, she said she was “Shaquana Ball”. Further investigation determined that name to be false as well, and identification found in a change purse in the vehicle revealed her true identity. Johnson was then found to have a warrant for her arrest from Princeton, NJ. Johnson was charged with Hindering Apprehension, processed at WWPD Headquarters, and released after bail was posted on her Princeton warrant. Avery-Wells was processed at WWPD Headquarters and then transported to the Mercer County Correction Center.

Investigation determined that while Suzanne Borusovic was shopping at Target, she concealed items in her purse and jacket pockets. She then proceeded to a register where she paid for the merchandise in her cart, but did not pay for any of the items she concealed nor the Lego sets she placed on the bottom shelf of the shopping cart she was using. Borusovic was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Zicha initiated a stop on a black 2014 Chevy sedan for speeding and unsafe lane changes. During the stop, a search was conducted on the vehicle. During the search, Christopher Jackson became defensive and agitated when his trunk was opened. Jackson repeatedly attempted to get past Ptl. Crawford (who was the backup officer) and get to his trunk. When he finally got past Ptl. Crawford, he immediately grabbed a bag from his trunk. Not knowing what was inside the bag, officers struggled with Jackson for control over it. Officers were eventually able to get Jackson into custody, and inside the bag was a large glass jar containing individually packaged bags of marijuana. Found inside Jackson’s jacket was a small glass jar containing more individually packaged marijuana. Jackson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates at Mercer County Superior Court.

Van Ness was detailed to the Mercer County Park Tennis Center to meet with Park Rangers who were with two individuals who were suspected of using heroin in the restrooms at the Skating Rink. During the investigation, Conley Johnson who was with his fiancée, was found to be in possession of heroin, glassine bags and paper folds with heroin residue, and hypodermic needles. Johnson was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date at Mercer County Superior Court.
