Jose Chicas-Diaz, 34, of Patchogue, has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a motor vehicle crash on Route 112 in Patchogue early this morning.

Incident:         Pedestrian Killed in Motor Vehicle Crash
 
Location:        Route 112, near Taber Avenue, Patchogue
 
Date/Time:     Sunday, January 13, 2019 at approximately 4:55 a.m.
 
 
Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian early this morning.
 
Segundo Tacuri, 58, of East Hampton, was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer southbound on Route 112, near Taber Avenue, when his vehicle struck a 34-year-old man who was crossing the roadway.  The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
