Felony OWI - 4th Offense
On Saturday, January 12, 2019, a Middleton police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving 60mph in a 30mph zone. The driver was identified as John Sheehan, 39, of Madison.
The officer noted slurred speech, red glossy eyes, and odor of intoxicants. Sheehan also admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.
Sheehan refused field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested for 4th offense Operating a Motor Vehicle While intoxicated (OWI), a felony. A warrant was obtained for an evidentiary sample of Sheehan’s blood. Those results are pending.
Sheehan was transported to the Dane County Jail where he was booked on the tentative charge of 4th offense OWI.
