A strong low pressure system crossing the region tonight through Sunday night combined with cold air extending in from the north will lead to wintry precipitation, particularly over portions of the Piedmont, tonight into Sunday.
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of one half to one inch are possible. Ice accumulations ranging from a trace south to near one quarter of an inch north are expected.
* WHERE...Davidson County.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST Sunday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel will be treacherous.
