Winter Storm Warning 1pm today through 7pm tomorrow, snow & freezing rain expected. Roads will become Dangerous

Below is weather statement for our area followed by hourly graphs for Broad River area. Predicted for the highest chance around 10pm tonight through 4am. This storm can make traveling extremely dangerous. Expect power outages due to icing, get prepared early today to remain home and inside. When freezing rain begins roads will deteriorate quickly. Please take this Warning seriously and stay off roads, Don’t Become the Problem. Emergency Response will be delayed in icy conditions.

HEAVY WINTRY MIX AND SIGNIFICANT ICE EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH
SUNDAY...

.A low pressure system moving from the Mississippi River Valley
to the southern Appalachians tonight will spread wintry
precipitation across the region tonight into Sunday. A mixture of
snow, sleet, and freezing rain will develop with the heaviest
accumulations of sleet and freezing rain possibly making
conditions treacherous for the latter half of the weekend.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 7 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected starting this
afternoon, changing over to mainly freezing rain tonight.
Total snow and sleet accumulations of up to two inches and ice
accumulations of one tenth to four tenths of an inch expected.

* WHERE...Western North Carolina mountain locations along and east
of the central and northern Blue Ridge mountains, the adjacent
North Carolina foothills, and the northwest piedmont of western
North Carolina. Also, northern Greenville County in South
Carolina.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Power outages and tree damage are likely
due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible.
