INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Controlled Substance While Armed, Transportation of a Controlled Substance, Child Cruelty

LOCATION: 16100 block of Vallejo Street, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): Antonio D. Smith, 50-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM(S): Confidential, 6-year old female


SUMMARY: Based on information obtained through investigation, Deputy A. Curtis, from the Victorville Police Department, authored and obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 16100 block of Vallejo Street. On January 10, 2018, Curtis, along with other deputies from the Victorville station, served the search warrant at the residence.

Inside the home, deputies discovered a large amount of cash, PCP, methamphetamine, multiple prescription pills, and miscellaneous paraphernalia associated with the use and sales of narcotics. The items recovered belonged to Antonio D. Smith, a convicted felon, who lives in the home with three other adults and a 6-year old child. Deputies found Smith leaving the location and detained him. At the time of his detention, Smith had a loaded firearm in his possession.

Smith was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm, prohibited person in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while armed, transportation of a controlled substance, and child cruelty.
