Advisory

Winter Storm Warning

In anticipation of the upcoming snow event, OPD wants to remind everyone that no vehicles may be parked on any snow route during any level of snow emergency and/or when snow and/or ice accumulation is 3 inches or greater. Any vehicle found parked on designated streets is subject to towing and impoundment at the owner’s expense. We strongly encourage people not to park on snow routes and plan accordingly in an effort to help our Streets Department clear snow and make roads passable.

To accommodate student residents that typically park their vehicles on snow routes, Miami University will open up Millett Hall parking for displaced vehicles.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Residents are also asked to clear their sidewalks of snow. Sidewalks are essential for many to get to school, work, and shopping locations. Clearing your sidewalks will help to keep pedestrians safe.

Do not call Police Headquarters for weather or road reports during inclement weather. For road reports, visit Buckeye Traffic or call the Butler County Emergency Information Hotline at (513) 785-5800.
