Caltrans to close Decker Cyn (SR-23) at 10PM tonight from PCH to upper Mulholland before weekend storms
Caltrans announced on Friday, January 11, the planned closure of Decker Cyn Rd (State Route 23) in the Woolsey Fire burn area in anticipation of this weekend’s storms.
This closure will be implemented as a safety precaution in burn areas where there were multiple mud and rock slides and closures during the past two storms. The following closure will start at 10:00 PM on Friday, January 11 and is subject to change due to weather or other factors:
Decker Cyn Rd (SR-23) will be closed in both directions from PCH (SR-1) to upper Mulholland Hwy.
The closure points will be staffed by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Residents with identification will be permitted access if conditions are safe. During storms, Caltrans maintenance crews are on duty 24/7 in 12-hour shifts. Crews have been and will continue to clear drains and inlets from debris in anticipation of the rain storms.
Crews will be on duty and patrolling PCH through the Woolsey Fire burn area and on Topanga Canyon Blvd. (SR-27) between PCH and US-101 Freeway for immediate response.
