The Borough of Hawthorne has launched an events platform for the community in partnership with Burbio.com, a free website, iPhone and Android app that puts school, library, government and community events in one easy to use digital service.
 
With Burbio.com residents can select calendars to follow, create a personalized event feed, sync events to their Google or Apple calendar and be notified when things change.   Burbio is free for residents and free for non-profits to stream their events.

Residents can sign up by visiting Burbio.com or, on a smartphone, by selecting the Burbio app in the app store. After entering Hawthorne's zip code (07506), a resident can then select which calendars to follow.
 
Burbio’s platform reads event data feeds from public calendars and automatically updates when the source site changes, notifying users who have synced their calendars.  Burbio.com is currently populated with calendars from all Hawthorne schools, the library and government, plus many non-profits.  Burbio is free for non-profits and any organization can contact Burbio for help in getting their events listed.
