Suffolk County Police today arrested a man who was wanted for an active warrant and other charges after he fled police in Bellport this morning.
 
Suffolk County Police Fifth Precinct Gang Team was looking for Jhion Goff, a Bloods gang  member, known to them to be wanted for multiple crimes when they observed him at 739 Michigan Ave., Bellport at approximately 12:06 p.m. Goff entered  a 2015 BMW, struck an unmarked police vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed. Suffolk County Police helicopter followed him overhead and alerted responding units to his location. Goff parked his vehicle at 70 Overlook Drive, Farmingville and fled on foot. He gave up a short time later in front of 45 Overlook Drive, where he laid down on the ground with the police helicopter overhead, at approximately 12:15 p.m.
 
Fifth Squad detectives charged Goff, 19, of 9 Beach Lane, Coram, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4^th Degree, Criminal Mischief 2^nd Degree, Reckless Driving, Unlawful Fleeing from an Officer, Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Property Damage, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and a Warrant. Suffolk County Narcotics Section charged him with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3^rd Degree. Sixth Squad detectives charged Goff with Reckless Endangerment First Degree, for a gun related incident on East Bartlett Road, Middle Island on August 16, 2018.
 
Goff will be held overnight at the Fifth Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 11.
