Suffolk County Police last night arrested a woman for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a man in Medford.

Taylor Darienzo was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee southbound on S. Bicycle Path when the vehicle went through a red light at Granny Road at approximately 8 p.m. The Jeep then struck a westbound 2016 GMC, driven by Marisol Caprano, and an eastbound 2002 Suzuki, driven by Gregorio Paredes-Mendez, both on Granny Road. The Jeep then struck a 1987 Chevrolet, driven by Michael Biddlecomb, who had stopped the vehicle at a red light facing northbound on Old Medford Avenue at Granny Road. Darienzo fled the scene on foot and was arrested a short time later.

Paredes-Mendez, 46, of Medford, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Caprano, 42, of Farmingville, and Biddlecomb, 35, of Selden, were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Darienzo, 30, of 45 Morris Ave., Lake Grove, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Serious Injury and Resisting Arrest. She was issued six summonses for various traffic violations and had nine active outstanding warrants.

All four vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
