INCIDENT: Residential Structure Fire

NARRATIVE:
On January 8, 2019 at approximately 11:51am the Deal Police Department received a report of an activated fire alarm at 48 Roosevelt Ave in the Borough of Deal. Upon arrival, Sgt Nick Vaccaro, Ptl Vincent Volek, Officer Dale Wong and Firefighter Robert Simmen of the Deal Fire Department observed visible flames coming from inside the first floor of the residence. Firefighter Simmen then immediately forced entry thru the front door in order to begin fire suppression operations. Ptl Volek, Officer Wong and Firefighter Simmen then each utilized a fire extinguisher to knock down the main body of fire.
The Deal Fire Department then completed fire suppression operations and began overhaul. The fire was contained to the living room of the home and is not considered suspicious at this time. The Deal First Aid Squad also responded to the scene to assist. No injuries were reported during this incident.
