Wind Advisory until 06:00PM
Strong west and northwest winds will overspread the Quad State region late this morning and through the afternoon behind a cold front that will move through the region. The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 6 PM CST this evening. This wind advisory covers all of southwest Indiana, northwest Kentucky, and southern Illinois along and north of Route 13.
* TIMING...of the strongest winds will start in southwest Illinois by 10 am CST, spreading east to southwest Indiana and northwest Kentucky through 6 pm CST.
* WINDS...of 15 to 30 mph will be possible with wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph. Isolated higher gusts may be possible over southwest Indiana.
* IMPACTS...due to the winds may cause difficulty for drivers of high profile vehicles, such as tractor trailers and recreational vehicles. Loose objects left outdoors may be tossed around. Some weakened tree limbs may fall onto power lines and cause brief power outages.
