The Newberry Police Department responded to an incident at the corner of Glenn and Adelaide Streets this afternoon. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso and was transported to Parkridge Trauma Center in Columbia. The Newberry Police Department, Newberry County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are working the scene at this time. Updates to follow. This is believed to be an isolated event and law enforcement does not feel the community is in danger at this time.
