Tree pruning in Hoboken parks, Jackson Street Park update, Madison Street Park groundbreaking

Tree Pruning in Church Square, Elysian, and Stevens Parks

As a part of Hoboken’s park upgrades, the City will be pruning trees in Church Square, Elysian, and Stevens Parks over the next two weeks. Tree care is required to remove dead wood and branches that could become safety hazards during winter, as well as improve the health of trees and grass. All tree pruning will be conducted by a licensed tree care expert between the hours of 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday. Certain park areas may need to be temporarily closed for a few hours during pruning to protect safety. These areas will be clearly marked, but park goers should use caution.

Jackson Street Park

The City is working expeditiously with engineers to make repairs at Jackson Street Park, due to recent safety hazards related to walls in the Park. Repairs are anticipated to be complete by mid-next week.

Madison Street Park groundbreaking

Mayor Bhalla invites all members of the public to join in a brief groundbreaking event for the Madison Street Park project. The groundbreaking is taking place on Monday, January 7 at 3:30 pm at 3rd and Madison. The park is being completely overhauled to upgrade playground equipment and improve the park space.
