When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.


Notable Cases

On Monday, 12-24-18 at 2:52 p.m., a 39-year old San Francisco resident was arrested for driving under the influence causing bodily injury following a collision with another vehicle at northbound Highway 35 and Westmoor Avenue.

On Tuesday, 12-25-18 at 3:49 a.m., Officer Brenes and Officer Martin were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of East Moltke Street on a report of a verbal dispute. The dispatchers advised they could hear the sound of a female crying in the background. When the officers arrived, they saw a male subject standing in front of the residence. The subject was swaying from side to side, and his speech was slurred. The officers said the subject became hostile and asked why they were there. The officers explained that there was a report of a verbal dispute, and the subject started to walk away but turned and lunged towards the officers. The subject, a 22-year old Daly City resident, had a $100,000 warrant for his arrest, and he was arrested for the warrant and also for delaying and obstructing a police officer.

On Friday, 12-28-18 at 12:06 p.m., a loss prevention officer from Dick’s Sporting Goods requested us to arrest their employee, an 18-year old San Francisco resident, for embezzlement after he made numerous bogus transactions while working at the cash register.

On Friday, 12-28-18 at approximately 11:15 p.m., Officer Lizana and Officer Collins were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Innisfree Drive on a report of a residential burglary with the suspect in a physical altercation with the homeowner. The 56-year old reporting party/victim said he was in bed when his cat acted like “something was wrong”. The reporting party went to check on it and heard a strange noise coming from his office. He entered the office and saw a subject rummaging through items on his desk. The reporting party told his wife to call 911 as the intruder was trying to flee. The reporting party grabbed the intruder and threw him against the wall to keep him from escaping. The intruder struggled with the reporting party and was able to make it to the front door. The reporting party’s wife also attempted to restrain the suspect, but the suspect was able to escape. The reporting party said he scratched the suspect’s face in the struggle. He said he also noticed a red older model sedan in the complex that immediately left the area. The reporting party said the suspect stole his wallet containing cash and credit cards and also a garage door opener from his vehicle that was parked outside the residence. Officers responded to the area but were unable to locate the suspect. On Saturday, 12-29-18 at 9:40 p.m., Officer Premenko was at St. Francis Square when he located a stolen vehicle which matched the description of the vehicle in this case. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time, but the suspect later got into the vehicle, and officers detained him. The victims were able to positively identify the subject, and officers arrested the subject, a 29-year old Vallejo resident, for robbery, vehicle theft, receiving stolen property and for possession of burglary tools.

On Sunday, 12-29-18 at 5:58 p.m., Officer Hart was on patrol in the Serramonte area and was waiting for a cover officer before conducting a stop on a subject driving a stolen BMW. The subject drove the BMW into the Alto Serramonte Shopping Center parking lot, and officers simultaneously activated their emergency lighting equipment on their vehicles to initiate the traffic stop. The driver ignored the officers’ commands and continued to drive his vehicle in the crowded parking lot. The officers pulled their patrol vehicles in order to block the BMW, and the driver of the BMW accelerated and ran into Officer Premenko’s patrol vehicle head on and then accelerated back, ramming the front of Officer Hart’s vehicle. The driver of the BMW rammed the front of Officer Premenko’s vehicle again, two more times. Officer Hart repositioned his vehicle, and the suspect was unable to escape; however he kept manipulating the shifter to try to use his vehicle to push the patrol vehicles out of his way. The suspect ignored the officers’ commands to exit the vehicle, but finally complied after Officer Ciucci broke the passenger window. Officers subsequently arrested the suspect, a 28-year old Oakland resident, for assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession with intent to use a master key. During a search of the suspect at the jail, a corrections officer found a baggie of methamphetamine in the suspect’s pocket. The suspect was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and for bringing a controlled substance into the jail. No one, except the patrol vehicles and stolen vehicle, was harmed in this incident.

On Sunday, 12-29-18 at 9:45 p.m., Officer Lizana was dispatched to the intersection of Oriente Street and Partridge Avenue on a report of a man pointing a gun at the reporting party’s son. The 21-year old victim said he was on his motorcycle in front of his girlfriend’s house on the 300 block of Oriente Street when a friend of his girlfriend drove up alongside him in a silver Lexus. The victim said he felt like he was going to be “jumped” so drove his motorcycle on the sidewalk to get away from the vehicle. The victim said he stopped his motorcycle a short distance away, and a subject in the Lexus drove by slowly and pointed a gun at him. The victim said he fled when he saw the gun. The victim’s girlfriend provided a name and phone number of the suspect, and the officers arrested the suspect, a 22-year old San Francisco resident, at his residence the next morning.


Robberies

There was one robbery during the past week.

On Friday, 12-28-18 at 11:15 p.m., a home invasion robbery occurred at a residence on the 300 block of Innisfree Drive. See “notable cases” for more information.


Residential Burglaries

There were no residential burglaries during the past week.


Commercial Burglaries

There was one commercial burglary during the past week.

On Wednesday, 12-26-18 between 6:34 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., an unknown suspect burglarized the cafeteria at Daniel Webster School on El Dorado Drive.


Vehicle Burglaries

There were five vehicle burglaries during the past week

• St. Andrew’s Church parking lot—a gift bag containing a cell phone, biscuits, candy and a wallet containing a driver's license and credit cards was taken from the back seat of a 2014 Toyota Prius. The right rear window was smashed. Occurred on 12-25-18 between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
• Parking lot of Crunch Fitness—nothing was taken from a 2002 Acura TL. The method of entry is unknown. Occurred on 12-26-18 at 6:30 a.m. The reporting party was returning to his car when he saw three unknown subjects in his vehicle. The subjects immediately fled.
• Joe’s of Westlake parking lot—a backpack containing a laptop and reading glasses was taken from the trunk area of a 2018 Chevrolet Trax. The rear hatchback window was smashed. Occurred on 12-29-18 between 3:30 p.m. and 4:10 p.m.
• 2001 Junipero Serra Boulevard parking garage (5th floor)—nothing was taken from a 2018 Ford Explorer. The left rear window was smashed. Occurred on 12-29-18 between 7:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.
• 300 block of 87th Street--$20 and earphones were taken from a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The rear window was smashed. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on 12-29-18 and 6:00 a.m. on 12-30-18.


Stolen Vehicles

There were four vehicles stolen during the past week.

• Hill Street/D Street—1996 Honda Civic. Occurred on 12-24-18 between 6:45 a.m. and 12:50 p.m.
• Carport at the rear of 95 Ward Court—a 2000 Honda CRV. Occurred between 9:30 p.m. on 12-25-18 and 12:30 p.m. on 12-26-18. **Recovered on Serramonte Boulevard as the officer was on his way to take the report.
• 400 block of Talbert Street—a 1994 Honda Accord. Occurred between 5:30 p.m. on 12-26-18 and 6:30 a.m. on 12-27-18. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on 12-30-18.
• Park Plaza Drive/South Mayfair Avenue—a 2016 Toyota Corolla. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on 12-29-18 and 9:30 a.m. on 12-30-18. **Recovered by San Francisco P.D. on 12-30-18.


Miscellaneous

• We responded to 6 domestic disturbance cases
• There were 2 shoplifting incidents reported
• There were 6 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold
• There were 4vandalism cases reported
• There were no hit and run collisions reported
• Our Police Assistants put “boots” on 5 vehicles
