Gerardo Covarrubias Jr of Victorville was arrested for evading a peace officer

LOCATION: El Cariso Road and Borego Road, Victorville
SUSPECT: Gerardo Covarrubias Jr, 27 years of age, of Victorville
SUMMARY:
Deputy Marcuss Fisher was on patrol in the area of Del Gado Road and El Cariso Road in the unincorporated area of Victorville on Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Deputy Fisher saw a vehicle traveling east on El Cariso Road at speeds exceeding the posted speed limit and attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle continued to drive the vehicle at a speed exceeding the posted speed limit and failed to yield to the lights and sirens of the patrol vehicle. With the assistance of additional units the vehicle was stopped a short distance away at El Cariso Road and Borego Road.
The driver of the vehicle, Gerardo Covarrubias Jr, was arrested on charges of evading a peace officer and booked at High Desert Detention Center. On January 2, 2019 the Victorville District Attorney’s office filed a felony count of evading against Covarrubias.
