INCIDENT: NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM, POSSESSION OF A SHORT-BARRELED SHOTGUN
LOCATION: 13900 block of Zing Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Isaias Fuentes Ramirez, 39 years of age, of Victorville
SUMMARY:
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of shots fired on Wednesday, January 2 at approximately 10:58 pm. Deputies were dispatched to the area of the 13900 block of Zing Road to investigate the report.
Deputy Geoffrey Solorio arrived and was directed to a residence where neighbors believed the shots had been fired. Upon making contact with the resident, it was learned Isaias Ramirez heard coyotes in the area and was afraid his dog would be attacked by them. Ramirez took his shotgun outside and fired a round into the air to scare away any coyotes.
Isaias Ramirez was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm and when the shotgun was recovered it was found to have had the barrel sawed off. Ramirez was booked into the High Desert Detention Center on charges of negligent discharge and possession of a short-barreled shotgun. He is currently being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
