Annual Colonel Hand Reenactment:  The 57th annual Colonel Hand Reenactment to commemorate the events of January 1, 1777 will be held on Saturday, January 5th. For more details see the attached.

Free Rabies Clinic Scheduled - Lawrence Township Health Department is holding a free rabies clinic on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. It will be held at the National Guard Armory on Eggert Crossing Road. Please click here for more information or you may call the Animal Control Officer at 609-844-7092. (please note that the date of January 19 is incorrect on the municipal calendar.)

• PLEASE NOTE:  There is a correction on the 2019 municipal calendar - recycling WILL BE collected on January 14 and January 28.  (It will not be collected on January 21)

Public Notice Regarding Required Trenton Water Works Mailing due to Violation - December 2018! Lawrence residents who receive drinking water from Trenton Water Works will soon receive a required mailing regarding excess levels of TTHM (disinfectant byproducts that form when naturally occurring organic matter combines with disinfectants, such as chlorine, which is added to kill microorganisms). This is NOT an emergency situation and there is nothing for residents to do (meaning that residents do not need to boil water and do not need to take corrective actions). Rather, the mailing is required because the public has the right to know about the violations. For more details see the attached.  For your information, the attached is a listing of certified testing labs by county.





Road Work

• US Route #1 Road Widening - NJDOT continues the Route #1 road widening project. Delays are expected as there will be lane shifts and closures in the southbound lanes between Nassau Park Blvd. and Quakerbridge Mall.  Please use caution in the construction area.

Message from the Department of Public Works:

Brush Collection begins the week of January 7.
The Township recently revised the brush collection regulations effective January 1, 2019. (Ordinance No. 2307-18)

The week of January 7 is Zone 1.  Only those residents in Zone 1 should be placing brush in the roadway this week.  If you are unsure of your designated zone for your property, you may check the On-Line Property search on Township website at www.lawrencetwp.com. Material should be placed in an area on the street not greater than four feet (4’) from the edge of the pavement.  Tree trunks and stumps are prohibited.  Trees, or segments of trees and branches greater than six inches (6") in diameter may not be disposed of through the municipal curbside collection.  Vegetative materials shall not be piled greater than three (3’) in height and twelve feet (12') in length .  Once the truck has collected your street, they will not return until the next month’s collection.

If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now closed on Saturdays.
