The Amarillo Police department received information from a citizen on a scam that was attempted on her. The citizen realized it was a scam and did not lose any money. She shared the letter and check with APD, so it could be passed along to the citizens of Amarillo. The check looks like it could be legitimate and so does the letter. They are attached to this alert.
