On July 8, 2018 at approximately 10:30 pm, officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to Oakmont Dr. for a report of an unresponsive seven month old. The infant was treated by the Township of Hamilton Rescue and AtlantiCare Paramedics and transported to the AtlantiCare Medical center (city division), and later to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, for further treatment.

After an extensive investigation by detectives from the Township of Hamilton Police Department and Atlantic County Prosecutors Office –Special Victims Unit, it was determined the infant suffered from an overdose of narcotics. She was charged with aggravated assault (2nd degree) and endangering the welfare of a child (2nd degree) and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a court appearance.

Also assisting with the investigation was the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P). The infant has fully recovered and is no longer residing with the mother.
