Deputies arrest Shawn Richards of Needles for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon
LOCATION: 1400 Block of J Street, Needles
SUSPECT: Shawn Richards, age 29 a resident of Needles
VICTIM: Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, January 1, 2019, at approximately 1:30 pm, deputies from the Needles Police and Sheriff’s Department, responded to the Colorado River Medical Center, reference a subject with stab wounds. While conducting the investigation, deputies were advised the incident occurred at the Motel 6 in the 1400 block of J Street in the city of Needles. After conducting several interviews, the suspect was identified as Shawn Richards. Richards was located on the 1900 block of Smokestack Drive in the city of Needles. Richards was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Colorado River Station Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Richards is currently being held on $50,000 bail, pending a court hearing.
