K9 Edo nabs suspected impaired driver

Near BEVERLY, Wash. (31DEC2018) -- Grant County Sheriff’s K9 Edo helped Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Police catch a suspected impaired driver who tried to hide after a vehicle chase last night.

Around 8:30 p.m., WDFW Police tried to pull over 29-year-old Alfredo Rodriquez Santos, but Santos led F&W Police on a chase which topped speeds of 100 miles per hour. Santos pulled into a home in the 20100 block of Lower Crab Creek Road Southwest and ran on foot. WDFW requested a K9 to search the area.

K9 Edo and handler Deputy Tyson Voss answered the call, and after a 30 minute search, Edo found Santos hiding in tall weeds. Santos was taken by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center for treatment of the contact with Edo.

WDFW Police later booked Santos into the Grant County Jail for felony attempting to elude.
