Flood Warning until 03:40AM Tuesday

French Broad River At Blantyre affecting Henderson and Transylvania Counties. French Broad River Near Fletcher affecting Buncombe and Henderson Counties. Heavy rain of 4 to 9 inches had fallen on top of already saturated soils is producing significant runoff within the French Broad River basin. Significant (Moderate) flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to the river between Brevard and Fletcher is ongoing. Flooding further downstream in the vicinity of Asheville and Marshall is improving. In many areas these river levels have not been seen in many years, in some cases as far back as September 2004. Moderate Flooding is significant flooding of farmland, campgrounds, parks, boat-access areas, and adjacent secondary and primary roads. Some structural flooding of homes, businesses, and outbuildings is likely. The Flood Warning continues for The French Broad River At Blantyre.

* At 9:31 PM Saturday the stage was 20.9 feet. The river crested at 21.7 feet at 11:30 AM Saturday.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

* Moderate flood stage is 19.0 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...the river will continue to fall and go from moderate flood to minor flood on Sunday then go below minor flood stage by Monday night.

* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Moderate Flooding continues. Significant flooding of farmland along the French Broad River is ongoing. Floodwaters may begin inundating the trailer park on River Ridge Rd. and may be impacting some buildings along US 64 north of Grove Bridge Rd.
