Northwestern Polk County in western North Carolina...
* Until 300 PM EST.
* At 900 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain which will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
1 to 3 inches of rain have fallen into the Green River basin since
9 PM last night. Anticipated water releases from Lake Summit and
Lake Adger will promote additional rises on the Green River in
eastern Henderson County and Polk County.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Saluda, Chimney Rock State Park, Bat Cave, Lake Adger, Mill Spring,
Dana and Tuxedo.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Heavy rainfall will cause rapid rises on small creeks and streams,
possibly flooding low water crossings and farmland. Do not attempt
to travel across flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
Turn around, don't drown.
