Holiday Closures and Trash Collection Schedule:

• Municipal offices will be closed on January 1 in observance of the New Years holiday.
• No trash collection on January 1.
• Make-up trash pickup is scheduled for Saturday, December 29.

IMPORTANT RECYCLING INFORMATION:

• Recycling will be collected on Monday, January 31.
• PLEASE NOTE:  There is a correction on the 2019 municipal calendar - recycling WILL BE collected on January 14 and January 28.  It is not scheduled to be collected on January 18.

Annual Colonel Hand Reenactment:  The 57th annual Colonel Hand Reenactment to commemorate the events of January 1, 1777 will be held on Saturday, January 5th. For more details see the attached.



Public Notice Regarding Required Trenton Water Works Mailing due to Violation - December 2018! Lawrence residents who receive drinking water from Trenton Water Works will soon receive a required mailing regarding excess levels of TTHM (disinfectant byproducts that form when naturally occurring organic matter combines with disinfectants, such as chlorine, which is added to kill microorganisms). This is NOT an emergency situation and there is nothing for residents to do (meaning that residents do not need to boil water and do not need to take corrective actions). Rather, the mailing is required because the public has the right to know about the violations. For more details see the attached.




Dog License Renewal - January is dog license renewal month. All dogs seven months and older must be licensed. Click here for license application. If you have any questions or need additional information about licensing, please call the Clerk's Office at 609-844-7000.



Free Rabies Clinic - Lawrence Township Health Department is holding a free rabies clinic on Saturday, January 12, 2019, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. It will be held at the National Guard Armory on Eggert Crossing Road. Please click here for more information or you may call the Animal Control Officer at 609-844-7092. (please note that the date of January 19 is incorrect on the municipal calendar.)




The intersection of Bergen Street and Gordon Avenue is now a Four-Way Stop. Please use extra caution in the area as motorists get accustomed to the new traffic pattern.





Road Work

• US Route #1 Road Widening - NJDOT continues the Route #1 road widening project. Delays are expected as there will be lane shifts and closures in the southbound lanes between Nassau Park Blvd. and Quakerbridge Mall.  Please use caution in the construction area.

Message from the Department of Public Works:
LEAF COLLECTION  PROGRAM IS COMPLETE AS OF DECEMBER 31.

Brush Collection begins the week of January 7.
Brush must not be placed at the curb for pick-up earlier than the weekend prior to your designated pick-up week.

The week of January 7 is Zone 1.  Only those residents in Zone 1 should be placing brush in the roadway this week.  If you are unsure of your designated zone for your property, you may check the On-Line Property search on Township website at www.lawrencetwp.com. Material should be placed in an area on the street not greater than four feet (4’) from the edge of the pavement.  Trees greater than an 8-inch caliper may not be disposed of through curbside collection.  Materials shall not be piled greater than three (3’) in height.  Once the truck has collected your street, they will not return until the next month’s collection.

If you have any yard waste, you may take it to the Ecological Facility on Princeton Pike between the hours of 7:30 am and 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday.  The Ecological Facility is now closed on Saturdays.
