Officer Martin Ganz 25th Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony Tonight at 6:30 PM
25 years ago today, MBPD Officer Martin Ganz was shot and killed in the line of duty while conducting a traffic stop. This evening, the public is invited to join us for a special remembrance ceremony in Martin’s honor featuring a special video tribute, honor guard detail, bagpipes, and more. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM in the Joslyn Center (1601 N. Valley Drive, Manhattan Beach) and will end with a candlelight procession to the Ganz Memorial in Live Oak Park (just north of Joslyn Center on Valley Drive - next to the tennis courts, in between the Tot Lot and the dog run). Please arrive early to find parking.
There will be a brief 10 minute street closure on Valley Drive (northbound and southbound) from Blanche to 15th Street due to the candlelight procession. This closure will occur sometime between 7:15 and 8:00 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
Thank you for joining us in honoring the memory of Officer Martin Ganz.
