The Police Department has received several reports from residents regarding a call from Ameren. The caller states they are from Ameren and an immediate payment is needed. This phone call is coming from a spoof number that does show on a caller ID as Ameren. Ameren has been contacted and they advise NO such calls are being placed from the company. As a reminder, do not give out personal information over the phone unless you have verified who you are speaking with. If needed, hang up, look up the offical company info and call them back.
