FIREWORKS SAFETY RULES

  • Follow the printed instructions carefully, and use common sense.
  • Use fireworks only outdoors, away from buildings, and dry grasses.
  • Light one item at a time, move away quickly and keep a safe distance.
  • Do not discharge fireworks at, into, in, through or against any building or vehicle.
  • Do not discharge fireworks in or near dry grass.
  • Never use fireworks in a crowd.
  • Never give fireworks to a small child.
  • Do not alter or experiment with fireworks.
  • Never discharge fireworks near flammable liquids or in glass or metal containers.
  • Examine fallout areas for suitability before you shoot.
  • Think of the wind and the direction flying items and sparks might go.  Make allowances for errors (like wind gusts). Do not discharge fireworks in winds of more than 25 miles an hour.
  • Do not discharge fireworks in or near any area designated as a Fur Seal Rookery (CCO 8.9.2, Fur Seal Act, Marine Mammal Protection Act, U.S. 50 CFR Section 216).
  • Do not discharge fireworks in or near any area designated as Bird Cliffs (U.S. Fish & Wildlife Regs 50 CFR).
  • Do not discharge fireworks when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Do not discharge fireworks when it may disturb marine mammals and nesting birds.
  • Do not discharge salable aerial fireworks in or around residential areas. Salable aerial fireworks may be used in open areas such as the ball field, other non-grassy open areas, or non-grassy open areas over water
  • Persons under the age of eighteen (18) should not use fireworks, except under the active supervision of an unimpaired adult.
  • Do not discharge firesworks between the hours of 2:00 am and 10:00 am.
REMEMBER, THE FREEDOM TO ENJOY FIREWORKS SAFELY GOES HAND IN HAND WITH RESPONSIBILITY.  BE EXTRA CAREFUL.
