Sheriff's Major Accident Investigation Team investigates a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Mojave Drive

LOCATION: Mojave Drive near Ashley Glen Drive
PEDESTRIAN: Name withheld pending family notification
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, December 23, 2018, at approximately 6:34 PM, Deputies from the Victorville Station, and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a multiple vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of Mojave Dr. and Ashley Glen Dr. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a maroon passenger vehicle was driving west on Mojave Dr. and the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing Mojave Dr. After being struck by the first vehicle, the pedestrian was hit by a second vehicle. The second vehicle was described as a black 4 door sedan, possibly a Honda Civic, driven by a black female.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
Deputies are investigating the cause of the collision. Mojave Dr. between Amargosa Rd. and Ashley Glen Dr. was closed for several hours for the investigation.
