Deputies respond to a theft call and arrest two subjects for GTA, Possession of stolen property & Narcotics

LOCATION: Cottonwood Trail and Saratoga Place, Chino Hills
SUSPECT(S): Bobby Lopez, 36 years old, resident of San Jacinto
Naomi Derain, 22 years old, resident of Hemet
VICTIM(S): Residents of Chino Hills
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (L.A.D.W.P.)
SUMMARY: On Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 9:55 p.m., deputies from the Chino Hills Station responded to a theft at The Shoppes. Deputies determined a cellular phone was stolen from an employee of one of the businesses. Deputies located a suspicious vehicle near Cottonwood Trail and Saratoga Place and conducted a traffic stop. Bobby Lopez was contacted during the traffic stop and Naomi Derain was found hiding in a nearby vehicle. Lopez and Derain were found in possession of the stolen cell phone, mail stolen from residents of Chino Hills and other items stolen from Victoria’s Secret (located at The Shoppes of Chino Hills). Additionally, deputies located a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (L.A.D.W.P.) truck which was stolen earlier in the evening. Derain and Lopez were in possession of items from the stolen vehicle and additional narcotics were found.
Both Lopez and Derain were arrested and booked into West Valley Detention Center.
