Flood Warning

Flood Warning until 8am for small streams and low-lying areas. Do not drive through flooded roads.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Flood Warning for... 
  New Castle County in northern Delaware... 
  Cecil County in northeastern Maryland... 
  southeastern Berks County in eastern Pennsylvania... 
  Montgomery County in southeastern Pennsylvania... 
  Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania... 
  western Philadelphia County in southeastern Pennsylvania... 
  Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania... 

* until 800 am EST.

* At 358 am EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 
  that moderate heavy rain was falling over the area. Up to one inch 
  of rain has already fallen in the last few hours, in addition to 
  the heavy rain from yesterday. More rainfall will occur through 
  this morning. This heavy rain is causing local creeks and streams 
  to rise, and several may rise above their flood stage with the 
  additional rainfall. Be alert for areas of roadway flooding as 
  well.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include... 
  Philadelphia, Wilmington, Newark, Middletown, West Chester, Elkton,
  Havre de Grace, Calvert, Norristown, Chester, Pottstown,
  Phoenixville, Lansdale, West Norriton, East Norriton, Pennsville,
  Coatesville, Yeadon, Westtown and Carneys Point.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
