NOTICE TO COMMUNITY
St. Paul Island leadership has been working diligently the past few days to ensure uninterrupted air service to and from St. Paul Island. Leadership has had several conversations with USDOT, State DOT, Governor Dunleavy’s administration, our congressional delegation, Penair management, and Ravn. As for now, we are hopeful passenger air service will go uninterrupted.
We have also received the following news from USDOT, and confirmed by Senator Sullivan's office:
- DOT has been in discussions with the Trustee and RAVN Air.
- FAA has GRANTED the Certificate to Ravn to operate the Dash-8, but a flight test needs to still be completed; however, FAA is willing and able to move up the timeline for certification (Jan 22 was the original scheduled date for the flight test).
- Flights to St. Paul have been SCHEDULED for Friday 21 and Sunday 23 to accommodate holiday traffic. An additional flight is scheduled for Saturday 22.
In short term (next 3 days) air service should be provided, while longer term fix is on its way. We continue to work together expediently and are utilizing all our resources to ensure uninterrupted service to St. Paul.
