What:         Homicide Bureau detectives will announce a $20,000 reward sponsored by Supervisor Hilda Solis, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, First District, and approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors offered in exchange for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of Rene Lupian.

Detectives are searching for the suspect(s) involved in the shooting death of 22-year-old Rene Lupian that occurred last month during a robbery in East Los Angeles.

In addition to the suspect, detectives will discuss the search to identify a person of interest.

Rene Lupian was a bright and ambitious young man, killed while in the course of making an honest living.  Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are looking for information and Rene’s family will make a plea for the public’s assistance to provide information to help solve this crime.

Media Parking at the Hall of Justice:  Parking at or around the Hall of Justice is very limited and public safety is paramount.  News media representatives are reminded that parking restrictions apply to their vehicles.  These restrictions are subject to enforcement at any time by the city of Los Angeles and/or the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department or their parking enforcement agencies or officials.  The most important safety-related components pertain to fire department or other emergency access and vehicle or pedestrian safety, to include use of the sidewalk and ingress or egress of the property.  It is unlawful to block driveways, create blind spots for motorists or pedestrians, and obstruct stairwells, fire hydrants, crosswalks, handicap access points or other pedestrian thoroughfares or walkways.  Media representatives should consider all of these safety factors when making their decisions on where or how to park their vehicles.  Placement of equipment and overhead clearance for satellite or other antennas should also be considered.  For questions, concerns or additional information, contact the Sheriff’s Information Bureau at (213) 229-1850.
