Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man wanted for attempted murder

LOCATION: Bear Valley Road/Westmont Avenue
SUSPECT: Unknown Hispanic male
Driving a Black Dodge Dakota Truck
VICTIM: Confidential – 34-year-old male
SUMMARY:
On Monday, December 17, 2018 at 3:45 p.m. the victim was driving westbound on Bear Valley Road near Westmont Avenue, when he was rear-ended by what he believed to be a black Dodge Dakota pick up truck with an extra cab, driven by a Hispanic male. The suspect/driver of the Dodge Dakota approached the victim's vehicle and broke out the driver’s side window before shooting the victim one time with a handgun. The victim sustained a single gunshot to his left leg. The suspect was last seen driving west through the Lowe’s parking lot and was not located.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for the gunshot wound. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The case is still under investigation and the driver has not been identified.
