Effective December 17, 2018, the Long Beach Police Department will no longer be able to issue Nixle advisory text messages due to a change in the free services offered to government agencies by Nixle. The Police Department will now send advisory messages using the “AlertLongBeach” mass notification system already in use by the City of Long Beach, which offers text and email notifications.
