Deputies, probation officers & probation K9 conduct routine check & arrest Robert Hartland for probation violations

INCIDENT: PC 29800(a)(1), Felon in Possession of Firearms
LOCATION: 28000 block of DeAnza Street, Barstow
SUSPECT: Robert Lawrence Hartland, 38 years old, resident of Barstow
SUMMARY:
On December 12, 2018 at approximately 12:48 P.M., officers from the San Bernardino County Probation Department and Deputy Kelsey Parsons responded to a residence in the 28000 block of DeAnza Street for a routine probation check. During the search, Probation Officer Valenzuela’s firearm detection K9, “Izzy”, alerted the officers to eleven firearms of varying calibers, many of which were loaded. Numerous boxes of different types of ammunition, which were concealed in containers belonging to Robert Hartland, were also found on the property.
Hartland is currently on felony probation and post-release community supervision. He was subsequently arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms and booked at the High Desert Detention Center without incident.
