36 Citations Issued in 2-Hour Period
Las Cruces police issued 36 citations Wednesday morning during a two-hour traffic enforcement operation.
The operation began about 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, near Lohman Avenue and Foothills Road, and was in response to numerous traffic complaints in that area.
Officers issued 19 citations to motorists driving in excess of the posted speed limit, three citations for lack of insurance, three for driving with expired plates and three for not having valid vehicle registration. Two citations were issued to drivers who were using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.
The remaining citations were for various traffic offenses.
The Las Cruces Police Department plans to conduct similar traffic enforcement operations in the near future.
