The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) invites the communities of Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawken to a Design Zone Workshop on the Rebuild by Design - Hudson River Project. All are welcome! This workshop will discuss the alignment in the South end of the project area at the New Jersey Transit Railyard, and along sections of Observer Highway and Washington Street.

At this meeting you will: * Be updated on the decision for the Resist Alignment in Design Zone 4, the Middle Ground Alignment; * Be updated on the visual impact of the Middle Ground Alignment for Design Zone 4, and the opportunities for integrating urban amenities; * Provide input on the types of amenities that are most appropriate for inclusion as a part of the Resist Alignment in Design Zone 4.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Rebuild by Design - Hudson River Project is a comprehensive urban floodwater management strategy to reduce the flood risk from storm surge and rainfall flood events to flood prone areas within the Project Area, which comprises the entire City of Hoboken, and adjacent areas of Weehawken and Jersey City. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $230 million to the State of New Jersey for the Project, which includes the design and environmental impact analysis of the overall comprehensive master plan of the entire project (including the Resist and Delay, Store, Discharge components) and funding for the construction of the Resist components (coastal storm surge projects).
